Learn, Cook, and Connect with Grow Together Supports
Grow Together Supports offers a number of group cooking classes in our dedicated cooking space at the Chirnside Park CIRE Hub. We cater for individuals aged 16 and up who want to learn how to cook in a supportive and social environment.
Whether you lack access to a kitchen at home, want to develop new skills, or simply wish to socialize, our group classes are perfect for you. These classes focus on cooking nutritious meals, as well as food safety, hygiene, budgeting and fostering patience and independence.
We teach participants essential food preparation and kitchen care in a calm setting to avoid overstimulation. For participants with more complex needs or those who require help with daily living, we have fully trained, qualified and supportive staff and extensive experience in tailoring programs to ensure they meet your needs and goals.

Young Person Cooking and Learning Independent Skills Class
Our Young Person Cooking & Independent Skills Class is perfect for teens looking to build independence through cooking and essential life skills. In this weekly 3-hour class, participants will develop practical cooking skills, understand meal cost breakdowns, and learn to use seasonal ingredients.
Each session involves preparing two different main meal recipes . Participants then share a meal, and take two meals home to eat later.

Cooking and Learning Independent Skills Class – All Ages
Our Cooking & Learning Independent Skills Class is designed for all ages to help individuals develop essential cooking skills while building independence and confidence in a supportive setting.
This weekly 3-hour class focuses on practical cooking techniques, and learning how to make the most of your grocery shop by choosing items based on your budget.
Participants will prepare two separate recipes. They will take three meals home to eat later, and share a meal with the group, fostering social engagement and independence.
This class is perfect for those looking to enhance their culinary abilities and independence, while creating meaningful connections within the community.

1:1 Cooking Class – all ages
For those who prefer to learn in a 1:1 environment.
We will sit down with you and work out what you want to achieve from your classes – whether your goal is to increase your independence, or to make social connections.
We will then put together a program that takes into account your food preferences and needs.
- Cost: $60 co-payment per session, with the rest billed to your NDIS plan as 1:1 support
- Time: subject to agreement
- Location: In your home or in our commercial kitchen (additional cost may apply)
