ABOUT TOGETHER AT THE TABLE

Our vision is “a fulfilling, rewarding and joyous life for everyone”.

Together at the Table was conceived as a way to assist those wanting a delicious, reliable and affordable meal delivery service while also allowing us to provide employment opportunities to those who require additional workplace support.

Together at the Table is owned by Grow Together Supports, an innovative new NDIS provider. At Grow Together Supports, we provide our participants with choices – choices of what they want to do and when, how they want to live – so that they can focus on what brings them joy in their daily life, interests, hobbies and social participation.

We provide opportunities to participants, their families, our staff and the community, while always remaining grounded in our roots as a community-based provider who are always available to our participants and their support network.

Who we are

Cast your mind back 20 years, to a time when we didn’t have the unprecedented opportunities of the NDIS.  This is when we first started working together to support two remarkable young people living with disability.  As we faced challenge after challenge our team grew stronger and stronger.

In 2022 one of our team was diagnosed with a life threatening illness and had to face questions like “what happens if I am not there to care for my children?”, “How do I know they will have the continuity of supports they need?”, and “How do I find a provider I can trust?”.

Grow Together Supports was born out of the realisation that the provider was already there in us - the team we have built over the past 20 years had the skills, experience and drive to provide the same stability and support to others.

At Grow Together Supports, and Together at the Table, we have lived experience of supporting and caring for loved ones living with disability. We know first hand the joy when we see our loved ones flourish. We started Grow Together Supports to support others to feel that joy.

Frequently Ask Questions

Do you cater for specific dietary requirements?

Tell us what you need and we will work with you. If our pre-prepared meals do not suit your needs we have other options such as our In Home Cook-Up where we come to you and prepare your meals in your kitchen, or we can do a customised cookup where we cook and deliver meals made to your specific requirements.

Where do you deliver to?

Our delivery area is based on the Eastern side of Melbourne City. If you are outside this area, please contact us to discuss options.

Can you tell me more about the cooking classes?

Our cooking classes focus on teaching essential culinary skills while promoting social interaction and an appetite for trying new things.  We take you through all the cooking essentials including planning and budgeting.

We also ensure that you take home at least three main meals to eat over the coming days.

Whether in one-on-one or group settings, each session is customized to meet the your needs.

What happens if I have someone come to my home to cook with me?

We will work with you to identify the outcomes you are trying to achieve – whether it is trying new recipes, learning new skills, or support to make your old favourites, we develop a plan to achieve your goals.

Our staff can either take you shopping for the ingredients, or bring them when they come.  But rest assured, when they leave, you will have the meals you need to last for a few days, or a few weeks (in the freezer of course!).

Can I use my NDIS funding?

Some people may need support to understand healthy eating or to prepare their meals. This could be due to lack of time, ill health, or a physical, cognitive, or psychosocial disability.

When the NDIS decides you meet the funding criteria for support for meal preparation you can get this support in two different ways.

It can either provide someone to assist you to prepare your own meals, or it can allow you to purchase pre-made meals.

In all circumstances, you will need to pay the cost of the ingredients as these are considered by the NDIS to be an expense that everyone needs to pay.

If you are on the NDIS and are wanting to buy our meals, contact us and we can walk through it with you to make sure your needs are met.

Can I use my Home Care Package funding?

Yes.  Funds from your Home Care Package can be used to cover the meal preparation and delivery cost portion of each meal.

You will be required to co-contribute the ingredient portion of the cost.

We will issue you with two separate bills - one to send to your HCP provider, and one that you will need to pay.

Contact us for more information and we will step you through the process.

What happens if I need to cancel a class or meal delivery?

If you need to cancel or reschedule please let us know at least 48 hours in advance.   We aim to be flexible and accommodating, but last-minute cancellations may incur a fee to cover preparation costs.

If you do need to cancel we will always work with you to keep any costs to a minimum.

How do I book?

Classes or meal deliveries can easily be booked by calling, us, sending as an email, or through our website.  We recommend that your book your food delivery 48 hours in advance to ensure we have all the ingredients necessary for your class or meals.

All deliveries must be within 20kms of our Bayswater North kitchen.

$10 delivery fee. Minimum order of $50.
Free delivery for orders $90 or more!

Supported Employment

Supported Employment

Every chef needs a fantastic ground crew that keeps them on track.  Nothing could get done without them.

All our ground crew live with disability and are supported to ensure our kitchen runs smoothly – from turning on the lights and firing up the dishwasher in the morning, helping select and prep our produce, packaging up their delicious creations, to turning the lights off and locking up after a productive day.  They especially love doing the delivery so they can meet our customers.

What does this mean?

This means that people living with a disability, facing barriers from conventional employment, are empowered to be part of a workforce without limitations.

Why?

Everyone has the right to their own independence, a sense of belonging, to be part of a team and to be proud of their own achievements.

Together at the Table strives to achieve this, with the added bonus of delivering delicious meals to you – right to your door!
